the thunder shirt....and the 3 amigos

 Here is Bruce modelling his new 'Thunder shirt'........I got it for him in an effort to help him feel less anxious but so far, I can't say I've noticed much change in his behaviour when he's wearing it, but I think he does look very handsome in it.

a most-loved visitor

It was so lovely for me to have my niece Maddy here for the weekend......but I think the boys enjoyed it even more!



ready for the winter rains

Although it rained for most of the day today.we managed to have a great run at the park for a whole half hour without rain. But we tried all the raincoats on as a practice run just in case...........



this is not a dog blog........

...........it's a fish and snail blog!

This little snail (Escargot) appeared in the fish tank one day a few months ago. He/she must have sneaked in on one of the plants and does a great job of keeping things clean for Sky (the white and orange goldfish) and Shanti (the black fantail goldfish).

It's impossible to tell for sure, but I hope they enjoy their lives within the watery confines of their little home.....their pH is always neutral, their water cleaned and 'furniture' changed regularly, they get a good variety of food including fresh plants, and there are no outside stresses for them to endure....

They're not as much fun as the boys......and nowhere near as much effort....... but they are very peaceful and beautiful to watch.

time for play is NOW

A generous friend gave me a gift of some doggy affirmation cards yesterday, and the one I chose this morning said "The time to play is NOW". I took the hint and delayed my yoga practice to get on the floor and play with these funny little boys. Each had his own special toy that he enjoyed in between our rolling around together and having a really fun time......thanks Maria!

We love this park.......it's like being in the bush......

.....lots of space to roam around.......

.......and tracks that lead off into the wild.

Bruce takes a break from the adventuring to relax and enjoy the feel of his new haircut.....which has revealed a kink in the end of his tail....feels like it could have been broken at some stage, but only he knows.

Cairo's managing with our new park routine....we walk for 20-25 minutes before I get the ball from the car and give him a good run.....but he sometimes gets a bit bored waiting

Understandably, at 13 Jimmy's always the first one ready to go back to the car. He usually starts heading back whenever he's ready, and will wait patiently for us to join him eventually.

Cairo and Bruce love playing on it, and Jimmy and Cairo love rolling around on it.......

.....and I'm loving how cozy it makes the room feel, especially with winter coming............

Each dog has found his favourite spot......... Cairo and Jimmy love the fluffy rug beds I've made

While Bruce is quite lying directly on the carpet, as long as he can be under my feet at the desk or table.........

.......or sleeping soundly on his favourite lounge chair.......
